Cornwall Pride 2008

WONDERFUL DAY HAD BY ALL

Cornwall Pride was better and bigger than anyone could have imagined. With over 700 people joining in the parade and then onto the picnic in the park. It was a wonderful day and the committee were overwhelmed with the messages of support and thanks. People travelled from all over the country to be at the first ever pride celebrations in Truro cornwall.

This was the event of the year for the diverse community of the county, the whole day was embrased by so many people, it does go to show ...

To all my Cornish cousins from a fellow countryman in the States, congratulations on your inagural PRIDE celebration. You have come so far in demonstating an atmosphere of tolerance for diversity that instills a sense of honor to be Cornish. While we found out about PRIDE a little late to make travel arrangements this year, several of us have already commited to traveling to Cornwall for next years celebration. All the best on this magnificent occassion.

I may be skipping ahead a little here, 'cuz I haven't seen any more info about the event other than the theme is 'theatrical', but I was wondering what thoughts you guys had had about the entertainment in the evening... I don't know how much is already decided or how much input you'd welcome? But I was thinking Rosie & The Goldbug are a pretty well-loved local band and they're incredibly theatrical/campy. I don't know whether they have gay members or not but I think they'd go down pretty ...

Date Set for Cornwall Pride

Cornwall�s first ever Cornwall Pride Festival took its first steps to becoming a reality this week, when on Monday 11th the Pride 2008 Committee met for the first time. The committee will be responsible for planning and carrying out the diversity festival this year.
